The second of seven children born to Henry Pitts (1) (1687 - 1764) and Hannah / Anne Cary (1696 - 1735). Henry Pitts (II) was born on December 1, 1716 in Dighton (Bristol County), Massachusetts.

Per "Massachusetts Marriages, 1695 - 1910", Henry Pitts married Sarah Pitts in October 1746 in Dighton (Bristol County), Massachusetts. Replicating a family tradition limited to only two successive generations, Henry and Sarah Pitts were first cousins. Sarah's parents were Peter Pitts (1692 - ????), son of Samuel Pitts (1655 - 1696) and Sarah (Bobet) Pitts (1658 - 1719), and Sarah Pitts (17?? - 174?), the daughter of Samuel's younger brother Ebenezer Pitts (169? - ????) and wife Elizabeth (Haskins) Pitts (???? - ????).

Henry and Sarah Pitts were reputedly the parents of at least six children, all born in Dighton -- 1.) Edward Piits / born 1746, 2.) Sylvester Pitts / 1749 - 1812, 3.) Henry Pitts (III) / born 1753, 4.) Sarah (Pitts) Jones / 1757 - 1810, 5.) Elizabeth / Betsey (Pitts) Eddy, 6.) Phillip Pitts / 1761 - 1818
