A hip flask that once belonged to Robert Burns, and was believed to have been left in Hunthill House where he visited in the 1770s, was sold for £7,200. Burns spent time touring the area in the 1770s and during his visit he often stayed in Hunthill House. He is believed to have left this flask at Hunthill after one of his stays and subsequent generations of the family decided to hold on to it for sentimental reasons. The item was recently acquired from the Rutherford family when they sold the property.
