Sarah and Esau Marsh were married in her Father's home at Te Henui New Plymouth on the 19th September 1865, when Esau was 25 years old and Sarah was 16 years old.
They had 17 children; 1866-1893.

OBITUARY.
The death has occurred at Motunui of one of Taranaki's earliest settlers, Mrs.Sarah Marsh. In 1866 she married Mr. Esau Marsh, who came from Dorsetshire, England. The first 15 years of their life was spent in New Plymouth, and then they settled on the farm where she lived right up to the time of her death. She is survived by her husband, who is now 92 years of age and 15 children (eight sons and seven daughters).
