HERMANUS5 CUSTER (PAULUS4 KUSTER, ARNOLD3, JOHANNES2, REINER1) was born Abt. 1681 in Germany (Source: Chester E. Custer, "Pennsylvania Mennonite Heritage Volume IX, Number 3 July 1986 "The Kusters and Doors of Kaldenkirchen, Germany, and Germantorwn, Pennsylvania," page 28, Hermanus was baptized either on October 19, 1681, or on March 15, 1682. There are two baptismal accounts for Hermanus, "a little son of Gertrude Doors," on the same page of the church records. Both are in the same handwriting, presumably that of the pastor, Johannes Adolf Eylert. We do not know if one entry corrects the other, if they refer to the same child, of if there were two mothers named Gertrude, each with a child Hermanus. It would be unlikely that the same child would have been rebaptized. Lenert Hillikens, Arent Simons, and Marij Doors (Gertrude's sister, Margarita) were witnesses at the October 19 baptism. The March 15 witnesses were Peter Sieben and Margryit Doors (Gertrude's sister).), and died 1760 in Pennsylvania. He married ISABELLA B. CONRAD 1706 in Pennsylvania, daughter of PETER CONRAD. She died Aft. 1760.
