Notes for Hezekiah Findley: SCMAR, Vol. XIX, Summer 1991, No. 3, p.161 South Carolina, Pickens District. To W. J. Parsons, Judge of the Court of Ordinary. The undersigned widow of Hezekiah Findly Decsd humbly petitions your Court for an order to divide or sell the Real Estate of said Decsd. situate in said District & state aforesaid on waters of Shoal Creek waters of Saluda River adjoining Lands of Roswell Hill, Rachel Horton & others containing 92 acres more or less. The following are the Heirs: Martha J. Findley, Joseph Findley, John M. Findley for which your Petitioner will ever pray &C. Febr 20th 1857. Elizabeth J. Crain (X). Test: David Freeman.

Hagood & David Freeman and made oath in due form of Law that the Real Estate belonging to the estate of Hezekiah Findley late of Pickens District decsd is not worth $1000 and it would be better for the parties at interest that the said Land be sold and divided among said Heirs. Findley, Legal Heirs and Representatives of Hezekiah Findley who died intestate you are hereby required to appear at the Court of Ordinary on the 20th day of April next to shew case if any you can why the real estate of Hezekiah Findley decsd should not be sold and equally divided among said heirs. 30 March 1857.

SCMAR, Vol. XIX, Summer 1991, No. 3, p.161 On due examination it is ordered and decreed that the tract of Land which Hezekiah Findley Died seized and possessed as herein before described lying on Shoal Creek be sold by the Sheriff of Pickens District on the first Monday in May next on a credit of twelve months the purchaser giving bond with good securities with a mortgage on the premises if required.... 6 April 1857.
