About Hiram Ainsworth
1850, 1860, 1870 census lists birthplace as New York. Birth and death dates listed in handwritten manuscript, Crawford County Cemetery Records, Vol. 1, page 32.
From Ainsworths: A Partial History by Harvey A. Davis, 1965 - For the purposes of this report, we shall begin with Hiram and Julia Ainsworth who are buried in Rose Lawn Cemetery at Spartansburg. The Ainsworth lot is just west of the center drive way and near the public road from Spartansburg eastward. Hiram was born 1806 and died 1889 married Julia Haynor, born 1807 and died 1874. (Note: Our records show the spelling of Haynor is correct. Hazel Sheldon says Hayner is correct.) These people owned and lived on the little hill farm located on the County Line Road running east and west between Concord Corners and Harbor Half. The children of Hiram and Julia Ainsworth were: 1. Emeline who married Jerome Fuller. 2. Helen who married Peter Post. 3. Julia who married John Booth. 4. Olive who married LaBert Demming. 5. Mariah who married Parker Strong. 6. Augustus who married Lucinda Tewkesberry (Handwriting on marriage certificate is faded, but appears to be Tukesbury.) 7. Edgar unmarried, died at age 18 and is buried in the family lot. 8. Orlando - we have no record.
