Hiram D. Hickman, 83, a native of Georgetown but a resident of Danville for the last 40 years, died at his home, 102 Withner Avenue, Vermilion Heights, at 5 o'clock Wednesday morning following an illness of three months. Mr. Hickman, a tinner by trade, had been in business for himself the last 15 years. Prior to that he was employed as a tinner at the C. & E. I. railroad shops here. The deceased was born Jan. 4,1849, the son of Hiram and Martha Allen Hickman. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Martha Hickman, and the following children: Alva, East Chicago, Ind.; Mrs. K. Shipps, Chicago; Mrs. T. A. Nicoson, Roland and Dale, Danville; Mrs. Olive Willy, Pipestone, Minn.; Mrs. Lena Andrews, Califomia; a stepdaughter, Mrs. W. A. Miller, South Heights, Pa., and a sister, Mrs. Ida [sic] O'Connell [sic], Moneta, Calif. The body was taken to the Berhalter funeral home and returned to the residence Wednesday afternoon.
