Lieutenant of this country and served with great repute for many years as Chief Judge of the Court.

Andrew's brother, Lloyd Buchanan, married Susannah's sister, Rachel (Lawson) Buchanan.

"On the 12th of March, 1786, died at his residence in the county, Andrew Buchanan, many years Presiding Justice of the County Court, General of the militia, and a most meritorious citizen and merchant of Baltimore."

1) Dorothy Buchanan (born 18 Feb 1762).

2) Dr. George Buchanan (19 Sept 1763 - 9 July 1808) married Lætitia/Letitia (McKean) Buchanan (6 Jan 1769 - 9 Feb 1845) on 18 June 1789. Letitia was the second daughter of the Hon. Thomas McKean and Mary (Borden) McKean.

3) Alexander Pitt Buchanan (5 June 1765 - 19 June 1827) died in Winchester, Virginia.

4) Lloyd Buchanan (19 Oct 1768 - 18 Apr 1769).

5) Elizabeth Buchanan (born 5 Sept 1770).

6) Archibald Buchanan (born 22 Sept 1772).

7) Lloyd Buchanan (c.1773 - 15 Dec 1823).

8) Susannah Buchanan

9) Eleanor and/or Betsy Buchanan

ANDREW BUCHANAN, second son of Doctor George Buchanan, General of the Maryland Troops, 1777, and Presiding Justice of Baltimore, was born 22nd October 1734, and died 12th March 1786, having had by his wife, Susan Lawson (born 12th January 1743, died 26th August 1798), ten children: (1) Dorothy, married Benjamin Lowndes; (2) George, of whom afterwards; (3) Alexander Pitt, whose descendants are in Tennessee; (4) Andrew, father of Brevet-Major-General Robert Christie Buchanan; (5) Elizabeth, married David C. Stewart; (6) Lloyd Archibald, whose issue is extinct in the male line; (7) Susannah, married Thomas Johnston; and three others who died young or unmarried.
