About Hon. Reuben Knecht Bachman
U.S. Congressman. Born in Williams Township, Pennsylvania, he taught school for several years, then entered the milling business and was owner-operator of the Durham Mill, Pennsylvania. In 1879, he was elected as a Democrat to the Forty-sixth Congress, serving until 1881. Not a candidate for re-nomination, he was delegate to the Democratic National Convention, in 1884.
