W'hen a little boy he was given by his mother to his uncle the Rev John L McKee DD in whose family he thenceforth lived and whose school he attended for several years..

Thus the uncle above Rev John Lapsley McKee, D.D. who was the son of Son of James W. Mckee and Mary Campbell McKee (Lapsley) who was the son of Son of Col. William McKee and Miriam McKee

so this accounting below of placing him as the is entirely wrong!
