Hugh E. Newton, 88, of Stafford County died Monday. He was a retired commercial fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary C. Newton; a daughter, Mrs. Annie N. Williams of Fredericksburg; a sister, Mrs. John B. Fines of Fredericksburg, 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Wheeler & Thompson Funeral Home, with Rev. Harris G. Walker officiating. Interment will be in New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery, Stafford County. Pallbearers will be Thomas, Leonard, Henry, James, Carter and Sidney Newton.
