29 April 1593: Charter by which Hugh, Lord Somerville, confirms that he has sold (vendidit) the lands of Gilmertoun, Drum and Gutteris, all located in the sheriffdom of Edinburgh, to his second son Hugh Somerville: "filio suo legitimo secundogenito". RMS: 928

6 June 1601: Charter by which Hugh Somerville of Drum and Margaret Hamilton, his spouse, with the consent of Gavin Hamilton of Raploch, confirm that they have sold to Mr. John Preston of Fentonbarns and his wife Lilie Gilbert, the lands of Gutheris, with the mansion house thereof, and the lands of Drum and Gilmertoun, with the castle and manor of thereof, all located in the sheriffdom of Edinburgh.
