Hugo Kortschak was born in Gratz, Austria, and died in 1957 in Honolulu, US. He graduated from the Prague University, was a violinist, head of the Orchestral Instr. Department, Yale University and Manhattan School of Music.
He founded the Hugo Kortschak Quartet.
Hugo married Alice Plaut in London, England in 1907.
