About Ida Flora Dodson

Mrs. Ida F. Ross Dodson, 70, died suddenly from a heart attack at the family home on Toney Avenue, Greenfield, on Wednesday, June 25th, being found dead by her husband on his return from an errand.

Funeral services were conducted by R. C. Oldham and Rev. Tom Procter at the C. P. Church here on Sunday at 2:00 PM with interment in Greenfield Cemetery, the burial service of the Rebekah Lodge being performed at the grave by the Greenfield Lodge, by request of the lodge at Kuna, Idaho, of which Mrs. Dodson was a member.

Idaho Floran Ross was born July 12, 1876, near Everton, Dade Co., Missouri, the daughter of Abijah J. and Mary Ross, pioneer settlers.

She was united in marriage to Edgar Doson on Feb. 24, 1895. To this union six children were born, one child preceding her in death. She is survived by her husband, Edgar; and five children, Alden, Adren, Ross and Marvin Dodson and Mrs. Bernice Wilson: also five grandchildren, one great grandchild; three sisters, Mrs. Samantha Miller and Mrs. Clarissa Jones of Idaho and Mrs. Minnie Logan of Greenfield, and one brother, Ernest Ross of Long Beach, Calif.

In early life she gave her heart to God and united with the Hampton Church remaining true in her faith throughout life. Her life was given in fond devotion to Husband and children, to whom she gave the last full measure of affection, her love knowing no bounds. Truly her family could rise up and call her blessed, for her good deeds and noble sacrifices. The gentle and tender service rendered to the sick and suffering, the sleepless nights and hours of watching at the bedside will be long remembered. She leaves a bright Christian example as the best heritage to those who say farewell.

This appeared in "The Vedette", Greenfield, Missouri on July 3, 1947.
