Obituaries: Gospel Herald - Vol. 68, No. 7-- February 18, 1975 - p. 130 Snyder, Ida, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anson Groh, was born at Preston, Ont., July 27 1890; died at Fairview Mennonite Home, Preston, Jan. 12, 1975; aged 84 y. On Nov. 11, 1913, she was married to Menno Snyder, who preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 1956. Surviving are one son (Harvey), 3 daughters (Mrs. Irene Fretz, Alice and Florence Snyder), 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 foster children (Mrs. Mary Airdrie and William Meyer), 4 brothers (Norman, Oscar, Ivan, and Harold), and one sister (Mrs. Bertha Steiner). She was preceded in death by one son (Clifford), 3 sisters, and 2 brothers. She was a member of First Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Jan. 15, in charge of Robert N. Johnson and Ernie Martin; interment in First Mennonite Cemetery.

SNYDER, Mrs. Ida - On Sunday, Jan. 12, 1975, at the Fairview Mennonite Home, Preston, after a lengthy illness, Mrs. Ida Elizabeth Snyder of 14 Sydney St. N., Kitchener, aged 84 years. She was born In Preston, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anson Groh; her mother was the former Lovina Bechtel. Mother of Harvey of North Bay, Mrs. Irene Fretz, Alice Snyder and Florence Snyder, all of Kitchener; sister of Norman of Preston, Oscar of Florida,Ivan of St. Catharines, Harold of Kitchener, and Mrs. Bertha Steiner of Indiana; two foster children, Mrs. Mary Airdrie of Kitchener, William Meyer of Pennsylvania; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. Predeceased by her husband Menno Snyder in 1956 and by one son, Clifford, three sisters and two brothers. She was a member of the First Mennonite Church, Kitchener. Resting at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, after 2 p.m. Tuesday until noon on Wednesday, then at the First Mennonite Church for~the funeral service, Wednesday, at 3 p.m. Interment in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Robert Johnson will officiate. Expressions of sympathy may be made by donations to the Mennonite Central Committee.
