Increase Winn was born on 5 December 1641 in Woburn, Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay Colony. His parents were Edward and Joanna (Unknown) Winn.[1][2][3][4] Increase was the first white child born in the town of Woburn.[5]

Increase married Hannah Sawtell, daughter of Richard and Elizabeth (unknown) Sawtell of Watertown, on 13 July 1665 in Woburn.[6][7][8] They had children, all born in Woburn:[1]

Increase served in the militia. He was a sergeant in the company of Captain Thomas Brattle of Boston in King Philip's War, as recorded 24 August 1676. [9] He was a prominent citizen of Woburn and was a selectman in 1687-8.

Increase died in Woburn on 14 December 1690.[10][11] Hannah and her son Edward were among the administrators of the estate.[12] Increase has a Find A Grave: Memorial #164787286. He is buried in the First Burial Ground Cemetery at Woburn.

In 1738, his son Edward received a grant of land in Number 6 or Marlborough Canada (now Henniker, New Hampshire) in right of his father, Increase's service in the Expedition to Canada in 1690.[13]

Hannah died on 18 February 1723, in Woburn.[10]. She also has a Find A Grave: Memorial #164787492.
