Obituary:

"...Funeral services for Mrs. Inez Wood Evans, 59, will he conducted at 2 p. m. Saturday In the Bountiful First L. D. S. ward tabernacle, with Bishop T. Ambey Briggs officiating. Interment will be In Bountiful city cemetery.

Friends may call at the family residence in Bountiful Saturday prior to services.

Well known as a church and civic leader here. Mrs. Evans died Tuesday at 9:10 p m. at the family residence of a cerebral hemorrhage. She was born In Woods Cross, November 16, 1870, a daughter of Joseph C. and Josephine Chase Wood, attended public schools in Woods Cross and Salt Lake and made her home in Bountiful after her marriage to Jesse G. Evans on November 27, 1901. Active in L. D. S. affairs, the was a member of the South Davis stake Genealogical board, and had taught in church organizations. She also was a member of the Davis stake primary board, serving as stake chorister for 14 years. A talented musician, she played both the organ and the violin.

As a genealogist, she was outstanding having completed numerous classes and courses at the genealogical library, and was active In the Chase, Evans and Wood family organizations.

She Is survived by her husband, Jess G. Evans, Bountiful; her father, Joseph C.Wood of Woods Cross, and the following children: J. Goulden Evans and Wells L. Evans of Cape Town, South Africa; Josephine E. Smllh, Salt Lake City; James W. Evans of Moscow, Idaho; Marjorie F.Jackson, Salt Lake City; Jesse E., Inez. Dorothy and Ann Evans of Bountiful, and 15 grandchildren. She Is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Isaac C. Wood, Los Angeles; Josephine W. Naylor, Bountiful; Peninah Poole, Salt Lake Clty
Cotten C. Wood, Woods Cross; Kate W. Anderson, Woods Cross; Zora Hampton and Dewey Wood, both of Salt Lake City..."
