""By chance, the church preserves a tombstone for a couple of people, both of whom belonged to the most famous families at Kopparberget and therefore may have helped finance the construction. The very weathered stone (made of limestone) stands today in a corner of the church northwest part (Fig. 2). When mentioned in a church description from the late 18th century, it was still over a grave in the floor of the church but was removed from there at some point and was thought to have disappeared, until in the 1920s it was found out in the churchyard .

The main surface of the stone is occupied by a representation in relief of a man and a woman under a pointed arcade with rich foliage. They are dressed in long pleated robes, the woman also a high headdress. He is depicted frontally, she in profile with her hands joined in prayer. Under the man's feet is a coat of arms with a barely discernible six-pointed star, under the woman's a coat of arms with a very weathered but still clear pig's head. Between them runs a border or a language band with an inscription that is now illegible. Guided by the coat of arms and an older record of the inscription, the couple has been identified as Olof Olofsson (Stierna) and Ingeborg Jönsdotter (Svinhufvud), ancestors of Georg Stiernhielm.

They lived in Hosjö, where they both died in 1498; the stone should have been added soon after.9 Their sons were the well-known brothers Otto and Kristoffer Olsson. Otto became bishop in Västerås, Kristoffer bailiff at Berget and one of the main political figures there.10

Any possible facial features are obliterated, but even if the stone had not been so damaged, they would probably never have been very prominent."
