Daughter and 11th and last child of Major General Joseph White Brown, her Uncle Gen. J.W.'s brother was Major General Jacob Jennings Brown 11th Senior officer of the United States Army from June 1815 to June 1821, when Congress changed the title to Commanding General which he held until his death February 24, 1828, resulting from his wounds suffered at The Battle of Lundy's.

U.S. President John Quincy Adams was good friend and wrote the epitaph inscribed upon his monument and wrote in his diary of the conversations he had with Jacob.Jacob was also the 24th recipient of the Congressional Gold Medal for the war of 1812, additionally his ancestors are certified to have fought the American Revolution (the 7th of Pennsylvania) # 4822

" Sacred to the memory of General Jacob Brown, who was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, on the 9th day of May, 1775, and died at the City of Washington, Commander-in-Chief of the Army, on the 24th day of February, 1828.
