About Ira A. Eisenhower

Rev.Ira A. Eisenhower was a minister. He was an uncle of Dwight Eisenhower who became the 33rd President of the United States.

Irvin Dayhoff was converted as a boy under the ministry of his Uncle Ira Eisenhower. The Dayhoffs and Eisenhowers resided on neighbouring farms near Abilene, Kansas, and attended the same Brethren in Christ Church.

Rev.Ira Eisenhower helped to organize a Holiness church at Ramona,Kansas and was one of the pastors. He engaged a great deal in evangelistic meetings. He saw hundreds of souls saved and sanctified and some called to preach and to go into foreign service as missionaries.

He founded and for twenty-seven years, until his death, served as pastor of the Union Mission Chapel, a mission chuch at East Sixth Avenue and Chandler Street, Topeka, Kansas.

Almost ceaselessly throughout his life he strove sturdily for the Lord, tirelessly preaching the gospel of his simple and complete faith.
