Irvin Ritchie Cleverly

Salt Lake Tribune, The (UT) - July 25, 2000. Deceased Name: Irvin R. Cleverly. After 85 years of working, loving, giving, sharing, and playing, our husband, father, and grandfather, Irvin R. Cleverly, returned to his heavenly home July 21, 2000. Born April 7, 1915, in Bountiful, UT to Henry Wm. and Olive Ritchie Cleverly. He was a twin and the 10th of 13 children. Married Ruth Moss in Layton, UT Dec. 23, 1936. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple April 7, 1941. Together they served a mission at the Los Angeles Temple Visitors Center and were workers in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Irv lived life to the fullest. He was an all-church basketball player and loved sports. He supported and found joy in watching his children and grandchildren in their athletics. He owned and operated Irv's Market for 30 years. He was an active member of the Woods Cross LDS Second Ward serving in many positions including bishop. He was active in civic affairs and served on the Davis County School Board for 12 years.

Survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruth; four children, Sheri Wickizer (Wayne), Terry, Susan Wilkins (Chris), all of Woods Cross, Gregg (Wendy), Los Angeles; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Donna Winters (Dean).

Preceded in death by daughter, Julie. Services will be 12 noon Wed. July 26, at the Woods Cross LDS Stake Center, 2064 S. 800 W., Woods Cross. Friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Tues. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 N. Main, and 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery. Buried 7/26/2000.
