About Isaac Keesing

http://www.maxvandam.info/humo-gen/gezin/humo9_/F20548/I55498/ Isaac and Marianne Sophia Peekel married 12 Jul 1910 Amsterdam, daughter of Levie Abraham Peekel and Femmetje de Roode. He served in the Holland military. Before 1910 he was employed at the Amsterdam Bank as a Financial Journalist, Algemeen Handelsbald 1910. He was manager and attorney of the banking firm Van Eyckin 1911. He founded the "Systemen Keesing” publishing firm and Keesing Media Group in 1911. He had enormous energy and inexhaustible fantasy. He had over fourteen patents for his Periodicals and other fruit of his active imagination. He stayed a great child all of his life. Several works are very well known in the world historical archives and are a must for students of history including The Contemporary Archives, The Financial Archives for Banks, and The Publication of Historical Archives, and The Publication of International Falsifications for Interpol and Banks. This last publication got him his Order of Oranje Nassau and saved him during the war. He happily got through the first year of war, renting a plot of land to grow vegetables for an eventual famine and because he liked doing it. When the Germans came to Holland, his International Relations and his brother Leonard helped him get away through unoccupied France, Portugal and then to Cuba, where he and his family were interred for some time. Later he worked at the Dutch Embassy in Washington D.C. issuing a small financial paper and the like just as happily as in his own firm at home. In 1945 he hastened back to Amsterdam because he promised the authorities that they could have his car, this was quite typical for him being he felt himself as the center of the universe. His hobbies were manifold drawing, languages, gardening, verse-making, memory feats, photography, reciting, driving, walking, reading, collecting, Latin quotations, and more. In his youth he was great friends with his cousins Isidore and David. They exchanged what they had learned, like French, English, Mathematics, so they taught each other.

Over Keesings Historisch Archief
