Barbara Prickett told me he died from being scalped by Indians.
Killed by Indians
On the evening of Sept. 10, 1774, Jacob Prickett's son Isaiah, a private in the community militia, and Susan Oxx set out in search of a lost cow. When they didn't return a search party was sent out. What they found was sobering. Young Isaiah was found murdered and scalped. Susan was nowhere to be found and had been taken into captivity.
