Dorothy B. Prickett

All, I have reread "The American Springers" posted in the sources tab here. It very clearly gives enough proof that Dorothy's parents were not Jacob Springer and Phebe Hiobe. Additionally, it clearly lays out the most likely father is a Hudson Springer, son of Dennis Springer and Mary Hudson on New London, Connecticut. I am updating this profile to reflect this. If someone has newer or additional information that conflicts with the source, let me know and I can change the profile back.

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Springer-4 Birth Although her gravestone, erected in the 20th century, gives1726 as Dorothy's year of birth, Kimberlee Miller, Prickett family historian who lives near Prickett's Fort, says Dorothy was born ten years earlier, on 4 June 1716. In response to a query as to why her gravestone says 1726 if she was born in 1716, she writes as follows: "Then of 1900s they made it 1726 just thinking she should have been younger [than Jacob,] misreading the old writing, . . . Kimberlee"[2]
