Isabel Mohr McDonell

Biography

Isabel MacDonald, of Glengarry was born circa 1567 in Glengary, Inverness-shire, Scotland. Her parents were Donald Macdonald, 8th of Glengarry and Morar and Margaret of Clanranald Macdonald.

Isabel married Sir Roderick Macleod, 15th of Macleod and Dunvegan in 1592. Together they had the following children: John Macleod, 14th of Macleod; Roderick Macleod of Talisker; Sir Norman MacLeod, 1st of Bernera; William Macleod, 1st of Hamer; Donald MacLeod, I of Greshornish; Flora MacLeod; Janet Macleod; Margaret MacLeod; Mary Macleod.

She died in 1615 in Isle of Skye, Scotland and was buried in Scotland.

    Lady Isabel Macdonell is the daughter of Donald Macdonell 8th of Glengarry.2 She married Sir Roderick Macleod of Macleod, 15th Chief, son of Tormod MacLeod, 12th of MacLeod and Jill Maclean, in 1598.1

From 1598, her married name became Macleod.
