Ingeborg (Isabell) Hermansdatter Boe -- born in 1812 in Ulnes, Valdres, Norway.

Came to America with husband in the late 1860's. Died in 1886 at the age of 74. Buried in the Old Rock Church cemetery at Livingston, Wis.

Burned to death in a house fire in Livingston, WI, USA. Her husband could not save her because he was at work in his blacksmith shop and did not hear her cries until it was too late.

From the Mt. Horeb Mail, Mt. Horeb, Wis. regarding Mrs. Ole Erickson Smesrud --

"PERRY -- 9/13/1886 -

Mr. Thore Smesrud got the sad news per telegram that his mother was burned to death. He immediately started for Blanchardville where his brother Erick lives and both hastened to their old father - a man past 80. As to how it happened the telegram did not say. His parents were living in Martinville, Grant Co., Wis.

PERRY - 9/24/1886 -

The circumstances attending Mrs. Smesrud's death mentioned last week, as near as can be ascertained were these - She was alone in a small cook shanty about one rod from the house and when found the shanty was on fire, herself badly burned and apparently dead for some time. She was lying by the stove and whether she had a fainting spell or was choked by fire and smoke or her clothes caught fire and she thus burned to death could only be guessed at, most likely the former. She was 74 years old. Her remaining husband is 80."
