Isidor Bodenheimer was a well-known person in Wiesloch. He had a shop in the Schlossstrasse. He may have stood by his sister's side. Isidor Bodenheimer sent his two sons, Siegfried and Erich, to America at the age of thirteen or twelve, because they could not attend a higher school in Germany, and perhaps even to know them in safety. It is said that in 1934 the older man came to a foreign Jewish family in New York. Isidor himself and his wife were able to flee from Germany on 15.08.1939 at the very last moment. Why Adelheid remained behind is unknown. Perhaps she felt too old to emigrate, or she was too late to make the necessary papers. Adelheid Bodenheimer was deported to Gurs with the other Wiesloch Jews on 22 October 1940.
