Israel Baldwin, son of Israel Baldwin and Hannah Chatterton, was b. in New Milford, Conn., 1761; he m. with LOVINA TODD, July 18,1785, and d. Mar. 20,1788, aged 27. In 1783, he taught school, and Davis, descended from Richard1 in his narrative of his life, still extant, says he taught a good one.

Children were: Israel (c1786), and Walter (1787).
