ISADORE CHARNOWSKI SUCCUMBS ON TUESDAY Cloquet Resident dies at Daughter's Home in Duluth; Funeral in Cloquet Yesterday

Isadore Charnowski, well known resident of Cloquet for the past 25 years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Losinski, at 4027 W. Sixth street, Duluth, on Tuesday Dec. 7, at about 6:15 a.m. Mr. Charnowski had been ailing for the past three years. Four weeks ago he was taken to his daughter's home at Duluth to receive medical aid. Death was caused from cerebral hemorrhage. Born in Poland, Europe, on May 10, 1850, the deceased spent his young manhood days there, and is a veteran of the Franco-Prussian war, which occurred in 1870-1. He was married to Miss Mary Cichosz in 1880, and the same year they came to America. They resided at Winona, Minn., until 1901, then moving to Cloquet, to make their home. Mr. Charnowski was employed by the Northern Lumber company until five years ago when he retired from active work. He leaves eight children, four sons and four daughters: John, Dan, Mrs Marie Klejwa, of Cloquet; Simon, Louis and Mrs. [Theodosia] Losinski, of Duluth; Mrs. Anna Olney, of Chicago; Mrs. Rose Swanson, of Minneapolis. Seventeen grandchildren also survive, and two brothers, Jake of Cloquet and Robert of Winona, and a step-father and step-sister in Montana. The body was taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Klejwa, of this city on Wednesday. Funeral rites were conducted yesterday morning, Thursday, Dec. 9 from St. Casimir's church, with Rev. John Kraslisz officiating. Interment was in Calvary cemetery. Pallbearers at the services were the four sons and two son-in-laws of the deceased; Simon, Louis, John, Dan, Joseph Klejwa and John Losinski. out of town relatives and friends here were: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Swenson and daughter of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Simon Charnowski and children, Mr. and Mrs. Zukowski and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lally and daughter, Mrs. Josephine Bedard and daughter, Mrs. Al Koneczny and Mrs. Florence Sternal, Mr. and Mrs. John Losinski, all of Duluth.
