John Gilbert Holloway writes, Jackson was my Grandfather. He fought in the Civil War. He came from a family of 11. He married Rachael Stevenson 9/5/1851 when they both were 23 and had 9 children. Rachael died in 1885. I don't know about a divorce. He now marries Lucinda Awildea (Rose) Gilbert 10/5/86, who had 13 children with John Coppock Gilbert who died 4/3/1883 one of which was Amanda Alice Gilbert. Now the DIRT. Aunt Maxine Holloway told me the story. After he married Lucinda in 1886, he is caught in the barn with his step daughter, Amanda. There is a QUICKIE divorce 1/6/1892 from mother Lucinda and a marriage to daughter Amanda in May 1892. My Aunt Ada Alice is born 8/23/1892. Do the Math! Jackson fathers 5 children to Amanda Alice. At the age of 72 he conceives my father Leonard who is not the youngest child. Aunt Emma is born 8/2/1903 when my Grandfather is 75!!! In between my Father And Aunt Emma, Jackson supposedly goes to Cleveland and visits a lady of the night and picks up a case of syphilis, this being the reason Aunt Emma never had children. Jackson fathers a total of 14 children. Jackson dies in 1905 at the age of 76 leaving 5 young children off to the orphange.
