Jacob 4 BIGELOW, son of Thomas 3 (Samuel 2 , John 1 ) and Mary (LIVERMORE) BIGELOW, was born Marlborough, Middlesex co, MA, 01 September 1717. The family moved to Waltham in 1720. He became prominent in Waltham, serving as selectman 1757--1762, and 1767. He married on 13 December 1739 Susanna MEAD, daughter of David and Hanna (SMITH) MEAD of Lexington, MA. She was born Lexington 01 August 1719, and died Waltham 28 February 1789. He drew up his will in Worcester co. 02 June 1794 ; it was proved 03 March 1801, and mentions sons Jacob, Samuel, and Abijah; daughters: Mary STEARNS, Susanna BROWNE, Sarah CUSHING, and Abigail FLAGG. Also mentions granddaughter Sukey, child of deceased son Thomas. He died 06 September 1800 at New Braintree, Worcester co, MA.
