Jacob Clark was Betty Zane's second husband, married to her when she was in her late thirties. He was the father of her final two children, Catherine and Ebenezer, after the family had moved across the border from Wheeling, WV to Ohio.
In Zane Grey's fictionalized account of the events at Fort Henry (now in downtown Wheeling) in 1782, the author placed "Jacob Clarke" as the young suitor of the teenage Betty.
