About Jacob A Diehl
From Valley Spirit-Aug. 22,1888 One of the oldest men in the county-Worn out with a long and busy life.
Mr. Jacob Diehl, of Hamilton Township, died Sunday morning at the residence of his son-in-law, Mr. John N. Snider near Turkeyfoot. His death was due to old age, he having passed the ninety-first anniversary of his birth Aug. 9. Saturday night and Sunday morning Mr. Diehl was able to walk about and had not been confined to his bed recently. Mr. Diehl was a pump-maker by trade but relinquished this some years ago and devoted himself exclusively to farming. Recently he disposed of his farm and has since then resided with his children, Mrs. John(Barbara)Snider, Mrs. Isaac (Sarah)Allison, Mrs. Andrew (Margaret) Bard, Henry Diehl and Michael Diehl. He was twice married but both of his wives are dead.(Magdalina or Martha Leahman and Salome Wagner)
Mr. Diehl was a member of the Lutheran church and a citizen whom all respected. His death will be mourned. His remains were interred in the graveyard at the White Church, Marion, Tuesday Morning
