Life

Johann Jacob Fischer was born around 1721 in the Schoharie Valley of New York State, to two parents who had been part of the Palantine flotilla of 1709-1710 to New York. The family emigrated to Pennsylvania soon after Johann Jacob was born, settling in Tulpehocken Township, in Berks County. There Johann Jacob married Maria Elisabeth Frederick, the daughter of other Palantine New York immigrants, in 1743. The couple stayed on in Tulpehocken Township, having the following children:

  1. Johann Adam Fischer, b. 1744
  2. Johannes Fischer, b. 1746
  3. Anna Catharina Noecker, b. 1747
  4. Maria Magdalena Rieth, b. 1749
  5. Christian Fischer, b. 1751 (twin)
  6. Jacob Fischer, b. 1751 (twin)
  7. Anna Elisabetha Krietzer, b. 1754

Johann Jacob fought in the American Revolution, something that almost all the Palantine New York immigrants did. He died in 1803.
