About Jacob Leyenberger, I
concerns
This Jacob appears to not be a son of his attached parents (seeing that [A] T. Q. Pfeiffer's "Our Maternal LINEBERRY Family Ancestors" page (link below) does not mention the van Limborch surname, and [B] this Jacob was reportedly born in Germany but his attached parents were reportedly born and reportedly died in the Netherlands). Is he their son? Further research is warranted.
brief biography
Jacob Leyenberger/Leinberger was born in Germany in 1700.
Jacob is recognized as the progenitor of this family line in America having come to the Province of Pennsylvania from Germany in 1738. He is listed as a passenger on the ship, Elizabeth, which docked at Philadelphia on 30 October 1738. It is most probable that, prior to emigrating, he was a living in Braunschweig, located in the present day German state of Lower Saxony (Neidersachsen). Subsequent to their arrival in Philadelphia, Jacob and his family moved west to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where their youngest son, George, was born in 1741. They may have resided in this area for at least 20 years.
By 1760 the "Great Wagon Road" had passed extended south into the Moravian settlements in North Carolina. Searching for more opportunities in America, Jacob, his wife, Elizabeth, and their three sons joined the throngs of Scots-Irish and German pioneers who traveled the “Great Wagon Road” south into Virginia and North Carolina. By 1763, they were settled in the sprawling area of Orange County, North Carolina. It may be that the original Lineberry homestead was located on the south fork of the Rocky River in what is now Chatham County. It is believed that Jacob Lineberger, Jr. stayed at this location. In 1773, Jacob, Jr. deeded Francis and George Lineberger 121 acres each land that lay in Guilford County.
Jacob died in North Carolina.

Find-A-Grave Memorial (154441395) created by Dennis York on 30 October 2015 records the following:
“When Johann 'Jacob' Leyenberger Lineberry was born in 1700 in Braunschweig, Lower Saxony, Germany, his father, Frantz Leyenberger, was 20 and his mother, Marie, was 22. Johann 'Jacob' Leyenberger married Elisabeth Quarter on January 31, 1730, in Bischmisheim, Saarland, Germany, when he was 30 years old and she was 35 years old. Apparently they had a daughter in 1728 before they married. The next 8 children were born in Germany before they immigrated to America on 3 September 1739 to the port of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Their tenth child George (Leyenberger) LINEBERRY was born 13 June 1740 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
After selling 20 acres of land in South Hampton (was Bucks) County, Pennsylvania on 22 August 1758 the entire Lineberry family apparently departed Pennsylvania and migrated into colonial North Carolina. This family migrated in cooler late summer of 1758 most likely down the great Philadelphia Wagon road into colonial Orange County (now Chatham County and Randolph County), North Carolina.
Their 10 children are:
- Maria Elisabeth "Elizabeth' (Leyenberger) LINEBERRY, b. 1728; d.1803
- Jacob (Leyenberger) LINEBERRY II, b. 1730; d. 1792
- Nikolas 'Nichols'(Leyenberger) LINEBERRY, b. 1732
- Maria Susanna(Leyenberger) LINEBERRY, b. 1734
- Francis(Leyenberger) LINEBERRY, b. 1735; d. 1781
- Maria Eva (Leyenberger) LINEBERRY, b. 1736
- 'Maria' Elisabeth (Leyenberger) LINEBERRY. b. 1737
- Johan 'George' (Leyenberger) LINEBERRY, b. 1738
- Johan 'Conrad' (Leyenberger) LINEBERRY, b. 1739
- George (Leyenberger) LINEBERRY, b. 13 Jun 1740 PA; d. Feb 1826”
