From Naomi Emmich, from the files of Evelyn Canup: On deed dated 5 Dec. 1803, Rutherford County, Jacob Stover purchased a tract of land in Holbert's Cove for the sum of sixty pounds. Jacob Stover's first deed in Rutherford was filed in 1806, but the body of the deed indicates it was written and the land was paid for in 1803. He purchased from James coward who, the deed states, obtained the land from James Fisher, who patented the land in 1785. The land was on Cove Creek.

He and his family are in the 1810 census

On 1 June 1816 Jacob Stover provided bond for the marriage of John Stover and Sally Waller in Rutherford County.

21 Sept. 1816 Jacob and Sarah sell their land in Rutherford County, for $200.

In 1820 they are listed on the Habersham County, GA. census.
