It is unclear whether Jeremiah's father was Abraham Stover or Jacob Stover, Jr.. Both were sons of Jacob Stover and Sarah Boone. However, most sites show him as son of Abraham.

Jeremiah Stover was convicted of treason for being a Tory (British sympathizer) in Botetourt County, Virginia in August, 1780.

Later lived on Hunting Creek in Wilkes Co, NC. There he filed his will dated 26 Nov 1807, proved Feb Term 1808 (Wilkes Co Will Book 2 page 226 )

1806 May - Wilkes Co.,NC - State vs Job Cole Assault and Battery fined 6 pence. Archibald Lovelace, David Bell, William Lewis, Jeremiah Stover and ELIZABETH, JOHN, NATHAN and HARRIS STANLEY were all witnesses in this case.
