He was christened by a circuit rider from the Kingston, New York Dutch Reformed Church on June 8, 1715. He wed Judike (Judith) Hornbeck in 1734. They lived in Montague, New Jersey and there had: 1) William, who was christened by a Kingston, New York Dutch Reformed Church circuit rider on March 26, 1735.

In 1715, Jacob was born to Jurian Westfall and Styntje (Christina) Kuykendall in Montague, New Jersey. He was christened by a circuit rider from the Kingston, New York Dutch Reformed Church on June 8, 1715. He wed Judike (Judith) Hornbeck in 1734. They lived in Montague, New Jersey and there had:
1) William, who was christened by a Kingston, New York Dutch Reformed Church circuit rider on March 26, 1735.
In 1736, Jacob moved to present Moorefield, West Virginia, and there had:
2) Abel in 1737
3) George in 1741
4) Esther in 1743
5) James in 1747
In 1748, Jacob received title to 400 acres along the South Fork of The South Branch of the Potomac River. This land was one of twenty 400 acre parcels; each with one mile along the South Fork and extending from Moorefield to twenty miles south. This land was sold by Lord Fairfax, after George Washington had surveyed it. Jacob had lot 13, which was seven miles south of Mooresfield, and uncle Abel had lot 9, which was four miles further south. Adjacent to Jacob's land was Fort Harness. There was born:
6) Joel on Oct 14, 1751
7) Judith on Oct 12, 1754
8) Jacob on Oct 10, 1755
On December 4, 1764, Jacob leased 140 acres along Lunice Creek near present Petersburg, West Virginia. In 1772, Jacob moved to Tygart's Valley and established the town of Edmonton, which is now Beverly, West Virginia. In 1774, Jacob built the Westfall Fort and son Joel was made town sheriff. Joel died in 1778 and son George became sheriff. Jacob served as a colonel in the militia. Jacob and Judith died in about 1795 and the children moved away. Jacob junior went to Kentucky in 1792; George went to present Parkersburg, West Virginia in 1795; William and James went to Kentucky in 1795, then relocated to Hamilton County, Ohio in 1798.
