About Juriaan Abel Westfall
Family history of Juriaen Westfall by Sandra Newman Sanchez records Johannes son Jurian Abel as lists Jurian Abel as Jurian George. This seems highly unlikely; Jurian is a Scandinavian form of George, which is Greek and means farmer.
Johannes' wife Appolonia died, and Johannes remarried. Appolonia was the mother of eight children. It is through Appolonia that the Westfall descendants of Daniel (her first child) are related to virtually every U.S. President. His second wife was Margarita (Quick) Van Garden. Johnannes and Margarita had two children, David Westfall b. 1759, and Benjamin Westfall, b. 1761.

Jurian, was born as the eldest child of Johannes Westfall. He was christened by the Kingston Church on April 27, 1684 and moved to present Port Jervis, New York in 1697, when he was age thirteen. In about 1710, he wed Styntje(Christina) Kuykendall and they moved to Big Minisink Island in the Delaware River, next to Montague, New Jersey. There they had three children and they were christened (C:) by a circuit rider from the Kingston Dutch Reformed Church.
1) Johannes, C: Jun 24, 1711
2) Jacobus (James), C: Feb 8, 1713
3) Jacob, C: Jun 8, 1715
Christina died in 1715 and Jurian wed Marytje(Maria) Cuddeback on August 20, 1716. They had four children:
1) Benjamin, C: Jan 29, 1718
2) Marretje (Mary), C: Jan 31, 1720
3) Daniel, C: Sep 1, 1723
4) Margrietje (Margaret), C: Jan 16, 1726
When Jurian died in 1731, his eldest child was twenty and youngest five. His wife Maria then wed William Cole. Jurian lived less than a mile from where the Minisink Church was built in 1741. This church was next to the local burial ground and it is believed Jurian was buried there as the cemetery was bought and dedicated in 1731.
