Jacob Myers Engle was born in 1825, the son of River Brethren preacher, Henry Engle and the grandson of the first River Brethren leader, Jacob Engle. Jacob M. Engle lived his entire life on the old Engle homestead on the Conoy Creek in western Lancaster County, PA and built the brick house that stands beside his grandfather's historic dwelling. Jacob M. was ordained to the ministry about 1860 and made bishop of the Donegal District about 1872-74. Jacob M. died in 1900 and is buried in the East Donegal Cemetery near his grandfather Jacob.
