An Aged Mother Gone.
Martha Stauffer, widow of John K. Stauffer, died March 1st, 1904, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. C. Hutchison, in Abilene, Kansas. She was born in Lancaster county, Pennsylvania, June 22nd, 1827, and died March 1st, 1904, aged 76 years, 8 months and 7 days. She leaves eight children to mourn the loss of a loving mother, forty-nine grand-children and twenty-two great-grand-children.
Her son, Rev. E. E. Stauffer of Lawrence, her sister, Mrs. Annie Musser of Sedgwick, and granddaughter, Miss Eva Hutchison of Topeka are expected for the funeral. A. M. Engle of Moonlight is a brother as was the late Bishop Engle who died in South Africa.
Funeral services were held at the house Thursday at 9 a, m. Burial at Belle Springs cemetery.
