Jacques Moll (1944 - 2008)

Brief overview:

Jacques (64), a dairy farmer (Stolberg Farm) arriving home after a distress call from his son, Jacques Jnr, was shot at point-blank range at the front door of his house, and died at the scene. On the day of the attack, his 58-year-old wife Genene and three grandchildren were ambushed by six heavily armed attackers on their arrival at the farm. The children were staying with their her while their father was at the hospital, where their mother had given birth to a little girl. Jacques Moll Sr was away on business in Bloemfontein. Genene was shot in the leg and tied up. The perpetrators tried to shoot the the couple's other son Xavier, but the gun failed. The grandchildren were also tied up and bundled into a cupboard. Fellow farmer Nic van den Berg was also injured during the attack. The perpetrators demanded money and firearms.
