"Jacques Henry Abendanon came from a Jewish family of Portuguese-Brazilian origin supposedly established for generations in Suriname. At almost ten years old, he came with his parents in 1862 to the Netherlands. His father, then acquire bailiff Paramaribo, hoping support here for its plan to establish a Surinamese bank. He is indeed successful in that intent and returned in 1865 as secretary-director of the Suriname Bank nv back to Paramaribo, where he died five years later. Young Abendanon remained in the Netherlands, went through the Av. Gymnasium in Leiden began in 1870, also in that city, a law school. This study was in January 1874 with a PhD (on positions) are closed, after which he Delft located on the Indian establishment with a view to which he aspired overseas judicial career preparing for the big official exam. Yet at the end of 1874 he succeeded also for this exam and he was sent to India.
