James Banks Root, MD

"After his graduation from Yale, James Root studied medicine with Dr. Sergeant [Sr.] at Stockbridge. Dr. Root first settled in Burlington, Vermont and then went to Athens, New York. He died from exposure to an epidemic. He was said to be a skillful physician. . . with the courtly manners of the old school (Yale Graduates)."
