Research Notes ==Unless there's something on the US side there's not a scrap of evidence in England that James Bennet was born in Cranfield Bedfordshire in 1618. The first Bennet entry in Cranfield parish register wasn't until 1632, a baptism where the father was Richard Bennet. Cranfield looks to be a red herring and it would be safer to change James' birthplace to England. Just because he married in America to someone from Cranfield doesn't mean he was from Cranfield as well. Update: A baptismalrecord for James, son of Nicholas, has been located in the records ofSt. Michael's, Kirkham, Lancashire. A burial of Nicholas in 1648 in the same church is also on record. Information on both has been updated on their profiles. <ref> Lancashire, England, Church of England Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1538-1812 </ref>
