James P. Caskey fell mortally wounded and died near the battle field of Gettysburg, Pa., on the 1st day of July 1863, in the 22d year of his age. He was a member of Co. "I" 12th Regt., S.C.V. He embraced religion in his 19th year and became a member of the A.R. Church, at Gills Creek. He was also a member of the Sabbath School, and was never heard to use profane language.
