Jane, eldest dau. of Eldred Curwen, Esq. of Workington Hall, Cumberland, and by her (who d. 1762) had two sons, John, his heir; Henry, b. 1761; and six daus., Bridget; Julia, m. 1769, Edward Stanley, Esq. of Workington; Jane, m. W. Blamire Esq. ; Frances, -m. Edward Christian, Esq. of Brancaster, Norfolk; Dorothy, m. 1774, John Taubman, Esq. of Nunnery, Isle of Man ; and Mary. He d. 1757, and was s. by his eldest son, John.
