Evidence from the National Records of Scotland
26 December 1584: Obligation by Elizabeth Conynghame, widow of James Craufurd of Auchinames, narrating that in the infeftment of liferent made by her husband to her of the lands of Gill, Glentone and Drum, and also in the liferent confirmation granted to her by James, Earl of Glencairn thereupon, there is reserved the liferent of Geilles Conynghame, widow of John Crawfurd of Achinnames; and for certain sums paid to her by said Geilles Conynghame she consents that Geilles enjoy the full liferent right of the said lands without molestation.
