21 November 1571: John Wilsoune, bailie, gave sasine to Mr. Alexander Craufurd, as heir of q. Patrick Craufurd, citizen of Glasgow, his father, of a tenement of land, fore and back, with yard and pertinents, lying t.c., on the south side of the street leading from the South Port to the great bridge over the Clyde, between the lands of q. John Greynheid on the west, the common vennel on the east, the burn of Malyndoner on the south, and the street on the north. Witnesses: James Craufurd, elder son of Gavin Craufurd, younger of Ferme, Nigel Maknele, and John Foular, officer. Glasgow Protocols VI: 1810

5 June 1584: Instrument of Redemption under the hand of John Hammiltoun, clerk of Glasgow diocese, notary public, narrating that David Boyll in Largis confessed himself to have received from James Craufurd younger of Fermis the sum of 400 merks Scots for redemption from said David and Margrat Craufurd, his spouse, of an annual rent of 48 merks furth of the £10 land of Manis of Craufurdis-Ferme lying in the parish of Rutherglen amd sheriffdom of Lanark, wadset for said sum by umquhile Gawin Craufurd of Fermis to said Margrat and David, her spouse for his interest. And therefor for himself and said Margrat, confessed the annual rent to be lawfully redeemed. Done within the place of Ferme. Witnesses George Craufurd in Fermis, Richart Vodrop in Dalamarnock, Andro Hammiltoun younger of Peill, Allane Fische in Cottis. 28 October 1585: AT SCHAWFIELD compeared David Craufurd elder of Fermis and Jonat Tod, his spouse, and constituted Andro Craufurd, son of said David their assignee to two acres of land in Bornflat within the Manis of Craufurdis-Ferme then occupied by them and to two kyis gers yearly herded within said Manis by James Craufurd of Fermis' servants in his name and to two ky pertaining to granters and to a house and a barn with two yards in the east end of Ruglen (Rutherglen) pertaining to said Jonat in heritage. And that for said David's lifetime. Which the said Andro received and granted that they should revert to said Jonat on said David's decease. On which said Andro and Jonat required instruments. Witnesses George Craufurd, son of said David, Johne Craufurd, brother's son of said George, Richart Vodrop in Dalmarnock, Stewin Riddall in Schawfield. Attested by John Hammiltoun, notary public.
