23 August 1531: Charter by which James V, King of Scots, confirms that he has set in feu ferme, the lands of Catslak, and the lands of Easter and Wester Montberngeare, all located within in the lordship of Ettrick Forrest and sheriffdom of Selkirk, to JACOBO CREICHTOUN son and apparent heir of JACOBO CREICHTOUN DE CRANSTOUN-RIDDALE, who is identified as the captain of Edinburgh Castle.
